While a lot of my content is skiing/camping/hiking/backpacking focused, this is also a travel blog. However, this is not your usual travel blog, so I thought it was worth spending some time explaining what this travel blog is and why it’s this way.
I’m a traveler – not a tourist.
First and foremost, travel posts on this site reflect the way I travel. When I go somewhere, I find a few things I absolutely want to do; I aim for roughly half to two thirds of the days to have one intentional activity. Beyond that, I pick places and I walk. I am very intentional about not over scheduling (or, even, scheduling at all…). Most of my best memories from my travel adventures have come from this wandering – be it randomly stopping at a street vendor (I’m pretty sure I ate some sort of rodent on a stick one time) or happening into an old part of town with beautiful historic homes. I also don’t plan my meals (generally); I wander until I find something sounding interesting.
Travel content on this site is structured in this same way – I’m not going to give you itineraries for places or a list and order for you to visit certain highlights of a particular city. Instead, I’m going to give you reflections of past trips – so I’ll review my pictures from my last trip to Seoul, South Korea, for example, and tell you why you should visit too. I might include some experiences I really enjoyed, so you can pick and choose for what most excites you. My goal is to give you a sense of what to expect from different cities, countries, and regions – from there, you can pick where you want to plan your next adventure.
I’m a traveler (or a wanderer, in many cases) – not a tourist. So hopefully some of my travel blogs can help you become a wanderer too.
Enjoy!
